Vikings Win Debut in Dominant Fashion

ROME, Ga. - Berry's Cal Supik scored six goals and assisted on seven others and Vikings goalie Jordan Boreman recorded a shutout as Berry defeated Millsaps 19-0 in the Vikings' first regular season game in team history.

Berry (1-0) scored six times in the first quarter and added seven more in the second to take a 13-0 lead by halftime.

Supik had a hand in all six goals in the first quarter.  He passed for assists on the first three, including the first goal in team history, which was scored by Michael Emanuelo 1:51 into the game.  Supik made the score 4-0 with a goal of his own with 8:51 remaining in the first goal, then assisted on two more before the buzzer sounded.

Berry dominated possession throughout the game, racking up 57 shots, including 31 which came on goal, compared to just seven by the Majors (0-1).  Three Millsaps shots were on goal.

The Vikings also more than doubled Millsaps' ground ball total, 45-21, and won 17 of 23 faceoffs in the game.

Nat Morey added five goals and four assists for Berry, while Emanuelo added three goal, Corey McRae and Bryan Byers scored twice each and Andy Kurila found the net once.  McRae, Byers, Emanuelo, Marshall Henderson and Wes Goldsberry each recorded an assist for the Vikings.

With Berry dominating possession and its defense forcing 26 turnovers, Boreman was largely untested.  Still he stopped the three shots that he faced directly to earn the shutout.

Berry returns to action March 5 at Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C.
