ROME, Ga. — The No. 10 Berry College volleyball team improved to 18-4 on Saturday with a straight set victory over Rhodes College.
Berry now boasts a 9-2 record in SAA play. Rhodes fell to 8-13 overall and 1-9 in conference play. Set scores were 25-17, 25-14 and 27-25.
Berry hit .242 in the opening set, pulling away after Rhodes tied it at 4-4. The Vikings held the Lynx to a -.091 hitting percentage in set two, controlling the pace the entire set. Berry committed 11 attacking errors in set three, giving the Lynx life. Rhodes hit .233 and strung together an impressive blocking performance in the final set to push Berry to the brink.
The team returns home tomorrow at noon to host Hendrix for Senior Day.
