ROME, Ga. — The No. 10 Berry College volleyball team won a big Southern Athletic Association (SAA) matchup on Sunday, besting Hendrix College 3-1 on Senior Day.
With the win, the Vikings improve to 19-4 overall and 10-2 in league play. Hendrix slipped to 15-4 and 9-2 in conference. Berry also secured the season-sweep of Hendrix.
Berry dominated the opening two sets, winning 25-14 and 25-17. Berry hit .438 in set one and .333 in set two, holding Hendrix to under .150 in both frames. The Warriors swung momentum back in set three, winning 25-15, but the Vikings closed it out 25-10 in the final set. Three Vikings earned double-digit kills including Peyton Breissinger, Emily Hancock and Carson VanCampen. Jordan Leitch passed 41 assists while Laura Beier earned 30 digs.
The team closed out the conference slate next weekend with a Friday night matchup at Sewanee and a Saturday afternoon test at Centre.
