Volleyball Soars Past Maryville, Advances to Atlanta Regional Semifinals

ATLANTA — The Berry College volleyball team earned a straight-set victory over Maryville College this afternoon, advancing to the Atlanta Regional semifinals tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.

With the victory, Berry moves to 27-5 overall and ends the Scots' season at 27-7. The Vikings clash with Colorado College, the No. 8 team in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 tomorrow. Berry is ranked No. 9 in the poll. 

Emily Hancock and Carson VanCampen led the way offensively for Berry. Hancock hammered down 12 kills with 11 digs. VanCampen earned 10 kills on a .421 hitting percentage and added five blocks. Jordan Leitch passed 27 total assists. 

Berry controlled the match from the start, claiming the opening frame 25-15. The Scots fought back in the second set, but Berry pulled ahead late to take a 2-0 advantage. Berry hit .393 as a team in the final set to secure the win.
